The terms “Korotu”, “we”, and “us” refer to Korotu Technology Inc. Korotu offers modules including: CarbonWatch, ForestChangeWatch, DroneWatch, and CarbonCruise. We refer to these products, together with our other services and websites, as "Services" in this policy.
This policy explains your choices surrounding how we use information about you, which include how you can object to certain uses of information about you and how you can access and update certain information about you. By using or accessing the Services, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Note that information you provide will only be collected when necessary and with your explicit consent. For example, we will prompt you for the coordinates of your current location only when you are using the Services to collect field data that requires location.

As noted in the Terms and Conditions, we do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 or allow them to make purchases without parental consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will immediately delete that account and any associated data as thoroughly as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided us personal information, please contact us at support@korotu.com.
3. How we use data generated from using our Services
We do not share or sell your personal information. However, in the course of delivering our Services, some information may be inadvertently shared with third-party providers who help us operate and maintain our platform (see the Terms and Conditions Section 3.1. Third Party Services). We may also disclose information when required to comply with legal obligations or to investigate and address violations of our Terms and Conditions.
4. Data Accuracy and Responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring your information is accurate and up-to-date. Korotu is not responsible for damages resulting from inaccurate information.
5. Data Protection
We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide our Services to you and comply with legal obligations. After account deletion, user accounts on the standard data ownership tier will have their data be made unavailable to the public but kept in an archive that can be accessed by Korotu. On the other hand, user accounts under the premium data ownership tier will have their data be permanently deleted.
6. Updates to the Privacy Policy
Korotu reserves the right to modify or update the Privacy Policy at any time, at our sole discretion. When changes are made, we will provide written notice, such as via email, and update the date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Services after 14 days of any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
